Description

Mix up a pitcher of this classic, fruity Sangria to share with friends this summer. This popular Spanish cocktail features a young red wine, cinnamon, fresh lemons, oranges and apples. Finished with a splash of soda water, it’s an easy drink to make ahead for entertaining!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 bottle red wine (use a younger wine, low in tannins)
  • 2 tbsp sugar or triple sec
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 oranges
  • 2 lemons
  • 1 apple
  • 12 oz soda water of choice

Instructions

  1. Prep the fruit: Juice two of the oranges and one of the lemons into your pitcher. Slice the remaining citrus into rounds and dice the apple into cubes. Reserve a couple slices of the citrus for garnish before adding the rest of the fruit to the pitcher.
  2. Mix & chill: Add the wine, sugar or triple sec, and cinnamon sticks to the pitcher. Mix well then transfer to the fridge to chill for 2-3 hours.
  3. Finish & serve: Serve in glasses over ice, if desired, with slices of fresh citrus as a garnish. Finish the sangria by topping individual servings with soda water.
