Description

Learn how to make these perfectly crispy plantain fries at home in a matter of minutes! They’re a fun spin on French fries, made with a classic Puerto Rican ingredient.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 green plantains
  • 4 cups canola or vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt

Optional:

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the plantains into ½ inch thick fry shaped pieces. Add the oil to a heavy bottomed pot and heat to 300 degrees F.
  2. Fry the plantains. Gently add the plantains to the oil using a heat safe tool and fry for 5-10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel lined plate to drain and sprinkle with salt. Enjoy!
