This classic paloma is made with 5 simple ingredients: tequila, grapefruit & lime juice, sparkling water, and a splash of simple syrup. The result is a tequila grapefruit cocktail that captures that perfect balance of sweetness, acidity, & bitterness.

- 2 ounces tequila or mezcal
- 3 ounces fresh grapefruit juice
- 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
- 1 ounce simple syrup
- 2–4 ounces sparkling water
- Optional garnishes: ice, salt, sugar, tajin, slice of grapefruit or lime
Instructions
- Prep your glass. Chill a glass in the freezer before decorating with your garnish of choice. If using a salt, sugar, or tajin rim, rub with lime juice before rimming the glass.
- Mix base ingredients. In a ice filled cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and simple syrup.
- Shake. Shake the ingredients well and pour into your chilled glass over ice.
- Top with sparkling water. Pour the sparkling water to top off the paloma. Add a slice of fresh citrus if desired. Drink responsibly!
