Description

Brew up a batch of this bright red Agua de Jamaica to enjoy all week long! It’s easy to make a single serving or pitcher to share with friends, with just 3 simple ingredients (dried hibiscus flowers, honey, and water). This beautiful iced hibiscus drink is vibrant in color and flavor.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For a Pitcher (serves 5):

  • 1/3 cup dried hibiscus flowers
  • 5 tbsp honey
  • 5 cups water

For a Single Serving:

  • 1 tbsp dried hibiscus flowers
  • 1 tbsp honey (or sugar)
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Measure hibiscus flowers and honey. Add the dried hibiscus flowers to a pitcher or mug while a kettle of water heats to a light boil.
  2. Steep, strain & chill. Add hot water to the pitcher or mug and stir with a spoon. Taste to see if you’d like to add more honey for a sweeter tea. Let the tea steep and cool before transferring to the fridge. Strain out the hibiscus flowers before serving chilled.

Notes

Note: Straining out the hibiscus flowers is optional, as they are edible. It’s up to your preference.

Optional: Add ¼ cup of lime juice to the finished tea (or a squeeze to a single serving) for a tangy compliment to this subtly sweet and sour hibiscus drink.
