Description

These plantain chips are seriously crispy, crunchy, and delicious! They’re made in the air fryer in less than 30 minutes and the perfect snack. Find out how to make them and how to pick the right plantains for this recipe.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 plantains
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp any seasonings you want

For a simple sauce:

  • 2 tbsp mayo
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees. Slice your plantains to about 1/2-3/4 inch thickness and toss with half of the olive oil, salt and any other seasonings you want.
  2. Fry in a single layer for 10 minutes.
  3. Using a flat bottomed glass, smash the plantain slices into flatter chips. Toss with remaining oil and seasonings. Fry 5-10 more minutes or until crispy and golden brown.
  4. Enjoy with your favorite salsa or a simple sauce made with equal parts mayo and hot sauce.
