It's an absolutely essential topping for these gluten free crab cake bites as it adds a bit of heat and a lusciously creamy sauce to the crunchy bites.
One important step if you're allergic to soy is finding a mayonnaise that's soy free.
As for this side salad, we're taking lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper and tossing it with some fresh arugula and shaved parmesan. One bowl, full of flavor and health benefits!
A quick backstory
This is one of those recipes I've made a thousand times but never thought to add to the blog. It's one of those appetizers that's perfect for catering gigs and it actually took a guest at one of the events I catered asking me for the recipe to push me to write this blog!
These crab cakes are almost always the first app plate to empty and 90% of the time I get a question about what kind of crab I'm using. People always seem impressed by how moist (sorry, this word applies here) they are inside and how crunchy they are on the outside.
Crab cake bites might not seem like the easiest recipe to make for a party of 75+ but this is actually a go to appetizer of mine for a reason. They are surprisingly easy to prep and shape ahead, stick in the fridge and bake when the time is right.
So what are you waiting for? Make these gluten free crab cake bites this weekend and enjoy as an appetizer, salad topper or late night snack!
