Finding Dairy & Gluten Free Creamers is Hard
Let’s be real, eating with allergies or sensitivities can be a massive pain in the butt. It’s hard enough finding dairy free milk alternatives. Making sure those alternatives are also peanut, soy and gluten free? Forget about it.
Part of my goal in running this food blog is making information about allergies and allergy friendly products more accessible. But before we dive into my favorite gluten free creamers, it’s important to make some clarifications.
The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) in the US is pretty lax about food and beverage labeling. While companies are required to label the ingredients used in their products, they are not required to disclose all the details about the facilities in which said products are made.
This reality can be pretty terrifying if you have life threatening allergies.
Some companies choose to disclose that certain products are “made in a facility free from” certain ingredients. Others choose to be honest about the fact that products are made in a factory that also produces certain allergens.
It is always a breath of fresh air to see either of those messages on processed food labels. Honesty is always a breath of fresh air in the food industry.
If you have allergies, please be your own best advocate and do the research before trying a new brand.

My Top 3 Picks:
- Milkadamia Macadamia Nut Milk – this brand of macadamia nut milk is truly a dream come true. It’s dairy free, gluten free, and seriously delicious. I would pick this over literally any milk (even cows milk) as my gluten free creamer any day.
- Vita Coco Coconut Milk – hello to the OG of dairy free and gluten free creamers! This one is such a no brainer, it feels like I’m cheating. You’ve likely heard a million and one uses for coconut milk already, but just in case you haven’t, it’s true! Coconut milk is awesome because it’s naturally gluten and dairy free. Plus, it’s full of healthy fats and has a rich, creamy flavor. This brand blends a mix of coconut milk and coconut water for the perfect texture.
- Califia Farms Oat Milk – this newly popular variety of dairy free milk can be controversial in the gluten free / celiac community for a few different reasons. For starters, not all oats are processed in a gluten/wheat free facility. Additionally, some companies use malt which also contains gluten. All this to say, while oat milk can be a really tasty dairy free alternative, you have to do some research on the brand you’re using before declaring it gluten free. The brand I’ve linked here is certified gluten free.
