Moroccan Coffee with a Twist

It’s one of those days when I actually NEED coffee to function. And if I’m having coffee, why not make it fancy?

Enter Moroccan Spiced Coffee + Ahara’s flavored ghee.

Back in Morocco, Moroccan Spiced coffee is just… coffee! It’s a totally normal thing to add some spice to your coffee grounds before brewing. So we are spicing things up another notch with one of Ahara’s flavors of ghee.

This recipe is about as simple as it gets: Grab the spices listed in the recipe card, mix with your coffee grounds, and brew as you would for a normal cup of joe.

From here, you could absolutely mix it with liquor or cream if you want a more classic Moroccan Coffee; but I’m a big fan of how blending it with ghee creates this flavorful frothy layer.

Ahara’s Chai Spice Ghee

Today I used the brand’s newest flavor, Chai Spice but I’ve also tried this recipe with their Vanilla Dream flavor (available here on Amazon); which is equally delicious.

If you’re familiar with the blog, you’ve probably seen me talk about this local Portland company a time or two.

I used to be their kitchen opener and was responsible for cooking these huge pots full of ghee. It was one of my favorite jobs and it really helped me understand all the work that goes into developing a product and brand.

Even though I don’t work in the kitchen anymore, I am still a huge fan of the company and the product. And that says a lot; if you’re still obsessed with something after working there (and “seeing how the sausage is made” as some might say) it means they’re doing something right.
