After 4+ years working in public schools I have had my fair share of colds. This remedy drink became my secret weapon pretty quickly. It can be difficult to get down because of the intense flavors but after a day of drinking this, your immune system will thank you! Bonus points if you can get your hands on some local honey. Boost your immune system with this healthy drink!
Note that this drink has very intense flavor – to water it down add 1 cup hot water
-4 cloves garlic (minced or grated)
-2 tablespoons fresh ginger (peeled & grated)
-2 tablespoons honey (local if possible!)
-juice of 3 lemons
-1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
-boiling water (optional)
In a mug or mason jar combine all ingredients.
Mix well to combine.
If desired, add 1 cup boiling water.
Steep for 5 minutes.
Drink daily until cold symptoms are gone!
